New York City Salt Ban Proposed

The timing on this is uncanny (St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner), but a bill has been introduced in the New York Legislature to ban the use of salt in preparation of food in New York City restaurants.

One comment, what do you think?

Battlestar Galactica at United Nations

OK, I have to admit this, I am a nerd and enjoy Science Fiction.  As such I am going to use the fact that this is somewhat political in nature as an excuse to post up this clip. If you don’t watch Battlestar Galactica, this won’t mean a thing to you.

Physical Fighting in Politics posted up a collection of political battles I thought might be interesting to watch. As ugly as politics gets, it can always get worse (and as the clips show, sometimes does).

Coin Flip Decides Mayor’s Race in Minnesota

WCCO reports that a mayoral race in Goodridge, Minnesota was decided by coin flip.  The town of 98 people had nobody file to enter the race for Mayor but incumbent Bob Homme and former Mayor Dave Brown were written in by residents.  Both nominees got 22 votes.

In lieu of recounting, they decided to let a coin toss decide the winner.  Brown won.

If only all politics could be this simple!
