Tough Biden Interview Results in Blacklist by Obama Campaign

Barbara West of WFTV in Orlando gave a tough interview to Biden yesterday.  She brought up ACORN, Obama’s “spread the wealth” comment, and Biden’s promise that Obama would be challenged by a crisis that would be generated specifically to test Obama early in his Presidency.  West even went so far as to quote Karl Marx, getting a “Are you kidding?” response from Biden.

In response, an interview with Biden’s wife was pulled and the Obama camp sent a letter stating, “This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election.”  Guess they don’t like being asked the questions that many in the public are asking.  Biden certainly did not seem to have clear answers, giving canned answers and attempting to shift the blame to the Bush administration.

My deepest respect to Barbara West and WFTV for asking some real questions to Biden instead of tossing up the feel good softball questions most stations seem to think need to be asked.

Bush Trailed Gore by 11 in October 2000

Gateway Pundit posted up a reminder of the 2000 election.  In October 2000, Bush trailed Gore in the polls, 51-40.  With the polls being all over the place this year, reliability is in question anyhow.  Reagan even trailed Carter in the polls back in 1980.

McCain cannot be written off in this race, and Obama shouldn’t be picking out the curtains for the Oval Office just yet.

One comment, what do you think?

Obama Workers Withdraw 13 Illegal Ballots in Ohio

The New York Post is reporting that 13 campaign workers for Obama withdrew their registrations and ballots in Ohio.  It appears that the prosecutor’s kind reminder that temporary residents aren’t allowed to vote in Ohio prompted the withdrawal.  I guess the threat of a felony charge is a good motivator.

It’s a shame to see either side illegally moving votes to try to steal a battleground state.  It will be harder for the Obama camp to separate itself from this like it did with ACORN.  So far I have not seen anything come across the wire for McCain volunteers facing the same issues.

Obama Fundraising Falling, McCain Close in Cash

With the polls narrowing and momentum appearing to shift towards McCain, now is not the time to start having fundraising problems for Obama.  According to the Associated Press, Obama only raised $36 million in the first two weeks of October.  That’s drastically slower than the $150 he raised in September.  In that same two week October period, he spent $105 million, double the spending pace he had in September.

According to The Patriot Room, McCain is only trailing Obama by about $10 million in funds.  That could tighten up the advertising exposure, a key for changing the minds of undecided voters this late in the race.

Obama Stands By “Spread the Wealth” Comment

Many have questioned Obama’s “spread the wealth” answer to Joe the plumber’s question.  He has been getting hammered by the McCain campaign and even appears to be losing some ground in the polls.  Obama’s tax plan is being evaluated as bad for business since two-thirds of businesses would face a tax increase on their profits.  Still, Obama continues to stand by his comments that spreading the wealth is a good strategy.  This video seems a bit edited, if someone has a link to a more complete one, please post it in the comments and I’ll update this post.
