Is anyone else noticing the outright arrogance of this administration? They are completely ignorant of public opinion (not to mention the constitution). Obama’s victory speech tried to say that America was listened to and he delivered what they wanted. Has he not seen the polls? Is he truly that far out of touch with reality or is he getting bad intelligence data from someone?
Then you have Jessie Jackson giving a smug look at tea partiers and grabbing at their signs, clearly attempting to bait them.
Al Sharpton understands what Obama’s change means. The man is claiming that Americans voted overwhelmingly for the way Obama is transforming the country, and if it is Socialism, so be it. His delivery is amazingly smug.
Democrats are showing how little they care about the American public. They meet behind closed doors to create completely partisan bills. Representatives (Stupak) sell their personal beliefs to tow the party line. They turn a blind eye to overwhelming poll numbers and bi-partisan opposition to bad bills. Then, using parliamentary tricks, they pass these bills and try to convince the public that they’re doing what they were asked to do.
Fortunately, they are ending their own careers. Sure, they will get some new voters who are fooled by a new entitlement, but opposition is mounting. There is only so much arrogance and ignorance that the public can take before they become energized. What happened to the Jeffersonian vision of the country? Why do we continue to move away from individualism? Obama said in his health care victory speech that “this is what change looks like”. If that is true then the polls show that Americans do not want Obama’s definition of change. At least John Boehner gets it.
