Rep Boehner (R-OH) said clearly what needed to be said. The fact that the Democrats backed out of a promise to leave for the public to review the bill was bad enough… but consider the fact that not a single member of the House had a chance to read the bill and yet voted on it. Yes, they voted for a bill that, when interest is added in, will cost the country $1 Trillion… Absolute obsurdity! By the way, check out the size of this bill when it is printed out.
Boehner also pointed out (not in video) that this bill will cost every American family approximately $10,000. The Government seems determined to find out if the way to get out of debt is to go further into it.

Mr. Boehner does have a flair for theatrics, doesn’t he? Remember that time he stood on the floor of the House and cried?
In all seriousness, though… How many members of Congress do you think actually read all the bills they vote on? Let me tell you: very few. Most of the time they just vote the way their party leaders or their staffs tell them to vote.
This particular bill has been wending its way through Congress for over a month now. If any Congress Critters had wanted to read it they could have read it. Most of them probably would not have understood it, but they could have read it.
And that, my friends, is a big reason of why Government will continue to make situations worse instead of better. Reminds me of the people who sign contracts (such as an ARM loan) without understanding what they are signing. You should never sign something you don’t understand.
Len seems to have spiled some Kool-Aid on his shirt while typing his comment. This bill has been rushed because it is what Obama wants. He knows people are blind to the long term outcome of all this spending. Our government refuses to listen to the people and seem to just go in any direction they please. They need to be reminded that they work for the people, and they should be sent home. 2010 is approaching soon. Great site by the way
