Could Murtha Lose Seat in Pennsylvania?

Murtha is really trying his best to dig a hole for himself in Pennsylvania.  The only recent polling info I’ve been able to find is mentioned on NRO, although it is just a source near the Russell campaign.  It says that Russell was down 14 points prior to the racist and redneck comments.  According to NRO, even with the 14 point lead, Murtha still was not at 50% support.  Even worse for Murtha, 40% said they were ready for a change and only 24% had any awareness of the Russell campaign.

527 groups are sensing potential weakness and have opened up with campaign ads to assist Russell.  Murtha has had a string of questionable comments such as accusing Marines of killing Iraqi civilians in cold blood.  Russell, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel with 28 years of service, is sure to have passion against such comments.

Are the people of Pennsylvania finally tired of the reckless statements Murtha has been making?

Barney Frank Supporting Deficit Spending and Soaking Rich

And now Barney Frank jumps on the bandwagon of creating the next Great Society.  He believes that the Government can solve our economic woes by spending even more than it already does.  According to him, worries about deficit spending should take a back seat and that we can tax the rich later to pay for it.

Taxes are already way too high.  Wages, benefits and jobs will be cut if taxes are raised on those who are providing those jobs.  Cost of living increases follow as prices on products rise to compensate the higher taxes.  In the end it is the lower and middle class who lose out.

It is time to stop pointing fingers at the rich.  It’s time to stop trying to make the rich poorer to make the poor think they are richer.  That certainly shouldn’t be the Government’s job!  We should be trying to better ourselves and find our own successes.  Class envy won’t get anyone anywhere.  Barney Frank might not want to admit it, but taxing the rich will only hurt the entire country.

Murtha Calls Western PA “Redneck”

I suppose that “racist” wasn’t strong enough for Representative Murtha.  On Monday, he called his constituents “rednecks.”  I suppose they should be thankful though, apparently they were “really redneck” in his eyes a few years ago.

If Bill Russell is smart, he will pound away in Pennsylvania on this.  Murtha feels safe enough after 17 terms to insult those he represents.  Apparently, Russell is close to keeping up with Murtha’s fundraising efforts.  Though I don’t see Murtha losing, he’s doing all he can to give Russell help.

I’m not sure where Murtha might go next?  Perhaps Western Pennsylvania is full of “crackers” or “honkeys”?   Either way, I find it insulting and I’m in Ohio!

Certain Democrats continue to bring up the race card over and over.  How is it that only 3% of black voters support McCain while 44% of white voters support Obama yet it is the white voter who is a racist?  I’d love to vote for a black candidate, just give me one who isn’t pushing a borderline Socialist agenda.  It’s a shame politicians such as Murtha only see black and white.  He totally ignores the fact that policy matters.  I’m not about to vote for Obama just because he is black, just like I’m not going to vote for McCain because Palin is a woman.

Where’d the Global Warming Go?

The National Post put up an article pointing out that the warming over the past 30 years has disappeared in the past 3 years.  Evidence continues to mount that things such as the sun (sunspots in particular) and the ocean are what affect the climate, not manmade global emissions.

The cause for alarm in global warming that I’ve seen over and over again is the rapid increase in global temperatures.  We now have a decrease that is 10 times more rapid.  Shouldn’t we be 10 times as alarmed that global temperature is declining?

The climate has been changing since the start of this planet.  Yes, the Medieval Warming Period did really exist.  And no, they weren’t driving SUV’s around back then.  There are more powerful things in this universe than man.

Perhaps this is the time for more analysis into climate change.  Real analysis, not analysis based on speculation and faulty assumptions.  The science has been lost to the politics.  “We must act now” has replaced the scientific method.  While one expert says the warming won’t stop, another says there is a potential of a 30 year cooling period.  When someone starts yelling that the debate is over, you know it isn’t.
