Mass State Senator Wilkerson Busted Taking Bribes

A Massachusetts state senator, Democrat Dianne Wilkerson, was arrested on charges of extortion as a public official and theft of honest services as a state senator.  According to an Associated Press article, she was caught on video accepting cash from some undercover agents and even stuffing some of the money into her bra.  It appears she took the cash in exchange for her assistance in helping a developer obtain a liquor license.

Wilkerson did not enter a plea, but faces a total of 40 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.  She had held the seat since 1993 but lost in a close primary race.  She was attempting to keep her position through a write-in and sticker campaign.  Allegedly, the illegal money was going to be used to help fund a primary recount that would cost $70,000.

Dang politicians. They sure have a hard time staying honest (if half of them even started out that way!)
I know you’re a right wing nut job, but isn’t it kinda ridiculous to post this story and not mention anything at all about Ted Stevens? Thank goodness I’m not coming to you for unbiased reports!
Now I’d better go find a liberal left wingist to balance things out! (Have you ever noticed that anything with wings is unbalanced with only one?)

Seeing as how the tagline of the blog says “Conservative views”, I’d hope you’d realize that there is indeed a bit of slant to everything on this site. ;)

And why do you think it is ridiculous not to mention Ted Stevens? I didn’t mention William Jefferson either. Maybe I’m actually a left wing shill!

Unless it is pretty closely related, there isn’t any reason for me to drag up the many cases of corruption in every corruption article I post. There’s corruption on both sides and it would be dishonest for anyone to say otherwise.
